Weekly Bumpdate > 38 Weeks

Can you even tell any difference in my bump size in these pictures now? They’re starting to look the same!  I’ll be honest.. I feel like a blimp right now.  Thankful that he seems to be healthy and strong, but I sincerely feel like a blimp.  With hip pain. Haha.

How far along? 38 weeks

Baby Size: About the size of a Swiss chard; 19-22in, 6.5lbs

Total weight gain/loss: 40lbs – wowee!

Stretch marks? Spotted a small few a few days ago.  Praying it stays that way.  I guess you’re not in the clear until after you give birth!

Symptoms: The usual pelvic pains while walking and rolling in bed!  Oh, and acid reflux.  Gross.

Sleep: Finding myself in more bouts of insomnia.  I’ll wake up in the middle of the night and have so much trouble going back to sleep.  Naps are a friend, but I try to resist them some days so that it’s easier to fall asleep at night!  Probably not the best idea as I have no idea when labor will start — I should be getting all the rest I can get.

Best moment this week:  I have 2 🙂  1- I was doing the dishes the other day and my hubby came over and started giving me a backrub and massaged my shoulders.  It was a sweetest thing.  He can tell when my back is hurting worse than other days, and it just had to be one of the most pleasant surprises.  2 – I wanted to get some ice cream sandwiches when we were at Target, but they only had the big boxes of them.  The smaller boxes only came in different flavors, and I didn’t want to buy the big box because then I would either eat them all or only eat one then have the rest sit in the freezer for months.  I told my husband that it was okay, that we didn’t need to buy it.  We went to the gas station afterwards because we needed to fill up on gas.  I normally wait in the car.  Suddenly, my door opened, and there he was with an ice cream sandwich in his hand 🙂  He bought one inside the mini mart.  Oh, he makes my heart melt!

Worst moment of the week:  Trying to resolve my payroll issues and clearing everything up with state disability.  These things shouldn’t be made complicated for a pregnant woman, but I’m thankful all is cleared up now!

Miss Anything? I guess doing anything comfortably.  I’m also tired of wearing sensible shoes all of the time. Lol.  This week, the doctor advised me to stay in the general vicinity of the hospital, so I won’t be going anywhere far.  I’ve also voluntarily decided not to drive myself anywhere considering I’m so close to the due date — not to mention I can barely turn my body enough to see my blind spot or back up the car! Ha.

Movement:  He’s a lot more gentle now, probably because he’s running out of room, but his movements are still pretty regular.  It always feels like he’s just trying to get comfy 🙂  I realized citrus still seems to make him squirm though.

Food cravings:  No real food “cravings” I think.  It’s moreso – I miss wine!  I miss brie!  I miss sushi!!  It’s finally hit me!

Anything making you queasy or sick:  Nope

Labor Signs: Braxton Hicks at night – steadily increasing.  Some days they’re harder to breathe through than others, but I suppose it’s practice for the real thing!

Belly Button in or out? In-betweenie

Wedding rings on or off? On!

Mood:  Impatient haha

Looking forward to:  Seeing some friends this weekend that I haven’t seen in a while!
