Every few weeks, when the sun is out and we have nothing to do on our plates, Tristan and I take a cruise out to Malibu in his Subaru.
It has to be one of our favorite things to do. Winding along Topanga Canyon, smelling the ocean breeze in the distance, and basking in the warm sun with music playing — nothing can really beat this.
If you’re not familiar with Malibu, there’s actually several different beaches you can stop at, but they’re all equally beautiful. This particular trip in 2011 had us stopping at Leo Carrillo State Beach for the first time. They had tide pools here, and I couldn’t let us pass by without checking it out. We saw all sorts of sea critters; I was pretty amazed. I felt like a little kid in a candy store. Who knew we had such a gem closeby?
Watching the families nearby and catching the windsurfers doing their thing was pretty cool too. I probably could’ve stayed here for hours.
Can’t wait until our next cruise to Malibu to find other unspoken gems at home. I’m kinda daydreaming about it already…
