Once our kitchen was remodeled, we figured end of October would be a good time for a housewarming as it gave us some more time to unpack and get settled in. Well, obviously end of October also means Halloween, so we figured why not host a festive family-friendly gathering to welcome our friends over!
We had a pumpkin carving party 2 years ago when Dom wasn’t quite a year old, and there were much fewer kids in our lives. This year proved so much fun with so many new littles! It’s pretty amazing to see life really evolving.
My favorite party partner, even though our parties are so different these days 🙂
Anyway, I didn’t plan too many details since most of the kids are still very small (and, let’s face it, I’m pregnant and tired), but I stuck with fun, brighter colors and some simple favors. We also made it a potluck for everyone to mingle and eat afterwards.
Here’s some highlights from the day. I asked for the littles to come dressed up as animals so it would be our own little zoofari, but unfortunately Dominic is on a costume strike right now, so the best I got from him was a bug shirt. We even picked out a shark costume online, but when it arrived, he refused to touch it :\ This has to be temporary, right?! I love dressing up for Halloween!
Thank you so much to all of our friends and family for coming to ring in Halloween with us and warm our new home!
Little animal masks to take home, even though I forgot to give away most of them lol
Sidewalk chalk was a big hit with the kids! Most of the carving was done by the parents 🙂
Left: Dom and his buddy Austin being cool and sharing some Goldfish pretzels. Right: Dino Isaac waiting on a chocolatey snack from mama.
Baby bear enjoying some sensory play with the pumpkin guts!
Our cuties 🙂
Gotta be precise to get Mickey to come to life!
Mamas and babies – bringing up the next generation of good men 🙂
Not too bad, I’d say! Can’t wait for next year!
