I have a constant need to get outside, to explore, to see new things. I wanted to go on a hike during the weekend of my birthday because I wanted to do something active, but I also wanted to see something new.
Los Leones trail is actually pretty popular, but I hadn’t heard of it before this trip. It’s clear that there’s always something new to discover in Los Angeles. It’s located near Pacific Palisades, and gives you a phenomenal view of the city once you get through the first part of the hike.
My husband went on this trail once and remembered the awesome view, so he suggested we go here. I’m so thankful. He was amazed too because the day we went, the skies were clear. He had no idea we could see downtown from this spot!
We didn’t do the entire hike because we had our little peanut with us (thank you, Ergo), so if you’re looking for an easy trek with little ones, this one is perfect. Supposedly the view is amazing at the very top, but the second half of the hike I’ve heard is much more steep and dangerous. I didn’t really feel like it was necessary anyway. The view was already breathtaking. Oh, and there’s plenty of space for a picnic too if that’s your cup of tea.
Check it out. You can see from Downtown to Santa Monica then to the Malibu homes. Beautiful. It’s definitely going to be one of my top places to take out-of-state friends that want to catch a view.
No need to restrict ourselves from adventures while we have a little one! There’s a way to make life work if you really want it to. What will we discover next?
