Some friends and I went on a crazy whitewater rafting trip last Friday at Kern River! Jen organized the entire event, and out of the 15 people who went, we were on a raft of 6. It was such an incredible experience. Everyone on the raft was down to “go big or go home” with the rafting guide. When he asked us if we wanted to try different tricks, we said “Let’s do it!” When he asked us if we wanted to do the craziest things possible, we said “Of course!” It made for such a rewarding experience. We did things none of the other rafts did, and our “Valley crew” all jumped off the 20ft rock into the water. It was ridiculous! Traci and I almost had a heart attack before we jumped, but I’m so glad she was there so I could have someone to jump with. We were nervous for the longest time (seriously, to the point where people were telling us to “JUST DO IT!”), but we eventually jumped, screamed our heads off, then when we popped back up on the surface, we just couldn’t stop laughing. It was actually fun. Don’t know if I’d do it again though. I swear it felt like my stomach was 5 feet above me 🙂

Us on our raft.
After lunch, we did a little sightseeing on a rock with our rafting guide, Scooter.
Adventure swims were awesome. We drifted along the river and floated through some Level 1 rapids.
Intense and definitely FUN!

Valley crew after the adventure. “Hi five! We’re still alive!”
What an unforgettable experience. I took nothing material home with me from this trip, but I felt so invigorated and inspired to keep trying new things afterwards. What a great experience to share. Even though I was exhausted, for the rest of that day, everything felt so right and every penny felt well spent.
And so begins my documented journey in this adventure known as life.
