Ever since Tristan and I started living together, I started creating wall calendars to help us reminisce the past year instead of going out and just buying a standard calendar. I have this ongoing dream of making a photobook that’ll act as our yearbook, but considering I’m all over the place now, I have no idea when I’ll have the time to get that going. For the time being, these calendars are pretty nice.
Each month showcases photos from the same month a year prior, so it’s pretty fun when we change the calendar to the next month and think “Wow! I can’t believe that was exactly a year ago!” (I know, so cheesy, but it really is a sweet way to reminisce every month. It also helps us start new conversations and make new plans!)
Anyway, our 2016 calendar came in a few weeks ago, and after realizing we’re on our fourth calendar, I thought it’d be fun to share the tradition and maybe inspire you to start one too 🙂 I take so many pictures throughout the year, it would be a shame not to print and display any of them.
The past few years, I’ve been printing them as 8″x11″ calendars, but I decided to go for the 11″x11″ this year. Tristan actually loved it even more, so I think we’ll be doing the 11″x11″ from now on. If you’re wondering, I always order them from Shutterfly and check sites like Groupon for deals. There’s normally a few discounts for calendars come December/January. I’m not the craftiest person, but I do love making things to give the home a personal touch.
