We are so very excited to announce to all of our friends and family that Tristan and I are expecting our first little one — yup, a little Baby Robles!
Here’s us the past 13 weeks…
I couldn’t get a jar of pickles in the picture because I ate them all and had to go buy another jar. No joke.
I’ve just entered the second trimester and have felt so happy and healthy thus far. We’ve definitely been moving quickly on saving and keeping our eyes peeled for great books and parenting information. There are no words to describe how this adventure has been so far. It’s definitely been a learning experience with so many new things happening, but it’s also so very beautiful knowing that the human body is capable of making such miracles happen. It’s so surreal. Every time we go see an ultrasound of our little peanut, we are simply in awe. My heart skips a beat every time.
I have to admit, it’s been a little rough not being able to eat so many things I love to eat and needing to sleep more than I ever thought possible, but I’m very fortunate to have such a loving and understanding husband who has been doing quite a large chunk of household work when my hips wouldn’t let me move much. I do hear the second trimester is a much easier ride, so, needless to say, I’m very ready to get back to business!
On a semi-related note, this was a huge reason why I haven’t done a single thing on my 30 before 30 list for months. I definitely had things scheduled, but once we found out we were expecting, I pretty much turned the list upside down. Turns out more than half of the list wasn’t preggo-friendly, so I’ve updated it to a 30 before 12/30 list. Yup – baby’s due date is December 30! New Years or Christmas baby, perhaps?
I’ll be capturing the journey on here along with the usual day-to-day events. I’ll be much better at this than when I tried to document the period between our engagement and the wedding — mainly because being home in a quiet place is so ideal while pregnant 🙂
